How Will You React?

“Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24, NKJV

When the world, or people, let you down this year, how will you react? Most of us know how it feels when things we were hoping for or counting on did not become a reality. Most of us have known that kind of disappointment and most likely, will experience it again.

Most of us know what it’s like when people or family disappoints us also.

When that happens this year, how will you react? Will you scream? Will you try to get even? Will you throw a fit? Will you do all of the above? The verse for today encourages us to consider what great things the Lord has done for us.

There is something about “Counting Your Blessings” that chases the devil out of our thoughts and minds.

There is even a spiritual hymn entitled, “Count Your Blessings”. The song goes on and says, “Name them one by one”. Have you ever tried to do that? That is; name your blessings one by one. It’s an eye opener to count every single blessing from God, one by one.

It’s a good way to combat the devil and his thoughts when the world lets us down and we are disappointed and discouraged about certain experiences going on in our lives or even when people let us down.

Next time the world lets you down, react by counting all the blessings of God that surround you every day. It may not change the problem but it will sure change your attitude and your altitude.
