This Storm Has A Lesson
“He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.” Psalm 107:29
This verse reminds us of the story when the Disciples of Christ were in a boat on the Sea of Galilee and a storm arose. The disciples were certain they were about to die. The disciples learned a great lesson that day, one that could only be taught in a storm, not in a classroom.
That is a classic truth that we should remind ourselves of in the midst of the storms of our life. We usually learn more about ourselves and more about God from the storms that we encounter in life than we do from the times that are calm in our life.
Even the storms that come into our lives have some worth to them. They have worth to them because they give us an opportunity to learn some valuable life lessons that we cannot learn anywhere else.
However, the lessons must be learned and then applied to our life. If we learn the lesson but don’t apply that lesson to our life, we have gone through the problem for nothing.
We can learn something from every storm that enters our life. The verse for today reminds us of who calms the storms of our life – Jesus Christ.
