Watch Your Tongue

“Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24, NKJV.

Words are powerful. Our words can build people up and our words can tear people down.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said we would be held accountable for every idle word that we speak. Words are powerful and have meaning. Words can change lives for the good.

Our scripture for today tells us that pleasant words are like honey and they bring health to the bones. The writer is telling us that our words can bring life to someone.

It is by our words that we share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. It is by our words that we encourage those who are discouraged.

Listen to your own words. Are they words of sweetness or words of bitterness? Your words are powerful and they can make a huge difference in someone’s life. Be sure your words will bring life to someone and not death.
