Let Go So God Can Take Hold
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning’s which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26, NKJV.
Can you remember moments in your life when your heart was so heavy or your thoughts seemed so confused that you couldn’t even find words to speak to God?
Most of us can answer yes to that question. Life can get like that and we find ourselves prayed-out over a situation. It’s in those times that we can’t find the words to formulate a new prayer or a different prayer about the on-going situation in our life.
It’s in those times that we need to learn to just let the Holy Spirit pray for us. That was Paul’s advice to us here in Romans 8:26.
The Spirit knows our heart and our needs and He also knows the mind of God; so who better to pray for us in those times? I know that it’s hard to let go of some of those situations.
It is in our “letting go” that God can “take hold” and do His best work. So, the next time you can’t even pray about a matter, just remain silent and still and let the Holy Spirit talk to God about the matter.
Be encouraged today in knowing that there are answers to your problems and trials. Be encouraged to know that when you don’t know what to pray, the Holy Spirit does.
