God Is Good; Regardless Of What Others Might Say
“….The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.” Psalm 33:5, NKJV
As we watch the evening newscasts, the first 5 or 6 stories will usually be bad news. A murder somewhere, a kidnapping somewhere, a riot somewhere or some other bad news of which there never seems to be an end.
There is no doubt that bad news sells more papers than good news. It’s easy to find the bad news and the daily tragedies that take place. You don’t have to look far.
I’m convinced that the good news is out there as well.
How would you like some good news to start you day off with?
Our verse for today tells us that the earth is full of God’s goodness. There is good news along with all the bad news. We Christians need to focus on the good that fills the earth.
Oh sure, I agree that there is plenty of bad and it will probably get worse but I am also convinced that is a lot of good in this world. And the good is more than just the good news and the good people. God is good and the earth is full of His goodness. The devil is doing all he can do to overshadow the goodness of God.
We are so saturated with the bad and the bad news that we need to remind ourselves from time to time that the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
That’s my good news for you today. I hope it helps your day be a better day. As you go through your day, count how many good things and good people you encounter today. They have all been put in your life by God.
