Don’t Be Gullible
“That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting”. Ephesians 4:14, NKJV.
The person who believes everything is as far from God as the man who refuses to believe anything. Our verse for today tells us to guard ourselves against false doctrine and the trickery of men.
Some people seem destined to follow any word from any person that sounds good at the time. Many have been led away by crafty words and promises that are untrue and harmful to those who do not balance those words or teachings against the Word of God.
The Word of God is the plumb line which all other teachings must line up with. If the teaching does not balance itself with God’s word, stay away from it, far away from it, no matter how much you may like the teacher.
There are many charismatic preachers or teachers that are teaching falsehoods today in pulpits, on the television and on the internet.
The definition of gullible is, “To be easily fooled or cheated”.
Don’t be fooled or cheated in spiritual matters. If you own a Bible, you already have the finished Word of God. Nothing new has been added and no changes have been made since He wrote it.
