Ask God First
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
Our adult life is full of decisions. We make countless decisions every day. Some decisions come automatically while others require thought, some very deep thought with lots prayer.
Some decisions are easy to make while others are very difficult and stressful decisions to make.
Being human, we’ve all made our share of bad decisions. It’s important to learn from those bad decisions and not repeat them over and over.
Our scripture for today would encourage us to take the dilemma that we find ourselves in and ask God for wisdom to make the right decision.
Our scripture tells us that God will give us His wisdom liberally and without reproach. Reproach means to be critical. So, we are promised in this scripture that God will give us the wisdom we need to make the decision we are struggling with and He will do it without being critical of us. Oh, what a God!
Be encouraged today in knowing that the greatest mind of the universe is available for consultation as you try to make that difficult decision that you are facing.
Take it to God, tell God all the details, along with your desires, and then listen for, and to God, and wait for His wisdom. According to scripture, He will give His wisdom concerning the situation to you in abundance; but you have to LISTEN!
