Our Hope Is In Christ, Alone
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast………..” Hebrews 6:19, NKJV.
If you have ever been out in the ocean on a ship, you know the importance of the anchor of the ship. If the ship loses its power, the anchor can hold the ship from drifting.
There are times in our life when we might lose our spiritual power because of problems that we are dealing with. In those times, we need an anchor to keep us from drifting away from the Lord.
Our scripture for today reminds us that the great anchor we have in our life is the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. When we lose that hope, in my opinion, we have lost something very important to us.
This world’s problems and the problems we face in our individual lives have a way of taking away that hope. Without hope we are like a ship drifting with no anchor to hold us.
Don’t lose your hope in the midst of your trials. Hold onto your hope regardless of how severe the trial may get. Your hope will serve as an anchor to hold you close to the Lord till you storm passes by. Your hope, like my hope, must always be placed in the Christ of the cross. He is our answer now and in the days to come.
