Tell Him No!
“My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.” Proverbs 1:10, NKJV
Temptation; every believer encounters it. For some, it is an occasional struggle. For most, it is an everyday occurrence, often resulting in failure. When temptation leads to sin, we often explain our conduct by blaming others, our environment, or any other acceptable excuse.
It’s not “if” temptation comes, it is “when” temptation comes. Whatever temptations you face, do not blame God. If you give in to the temptation and sin, be honest and hold yourself accountable. His forgiveness always gives us a fresh start.
Our scripture for the day reminds us we must learn to say “no” to the temptation and say “no” to the friends of the temptation and say “no” often and firmly to the temptation.
There’s no better response to temptation than the word “no”. Regardless of the temptation and regardless of the gravity of the temptation, “no” is the best and most powerful response we can give.
Be encouraged today in knowing that you do have the power inside of you to say “no” and mean it and follow through with the “no”. You don’t have to give in and you don’t have to live under the dominion of your temptations.
