I Know God’s Grace Is Sufficient

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…” 2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV

Paul the Apostle was dealing with an ongoing problem in his life. He referred to it as a “thorn in the flesh”. We do not what that problem was. There are many speculations as to what that “thorn” might have been.

Paul prayed that the Lord would remove that “thorn” from his life. In fact, the Bible tells us that he pleaded with the Lord three times that it might be removed from him.

As we read the complete story there in the Bible, we know that the Lord did not remove the thorn from the life of Paul.

However, what the Lord gave Paul began to overshadow the thorn that Paul was dealing with on a daily basis.

There are many things in our life that we could call “our thorn in the flesh”. It would be those “ever present” problems that we face day in and day out in our life.

We have probably prayed every day and multiple times a day for the Lord to remove those things that create so much pain on our life.

What Paul learned, and what we must learn, is that in those times, the Lord gives us His grace and His grace is sufficient to continue on with our life. He may not remove the problem but He promises each one of us that His grace is sufficient.

Paul discovered that when he was at his weakest, that was when the Lord could be at His strongest. That is a lesson we need desperately to learn this day and every day.

Be encouraged today in knowing that the Lord knows your pain, understands your pain and is there with you in that pain. He has not forgotten you nor has He abandoned you. He is present in your pain with you and His grace will hold you up, comfort you and encourage you day by day and moment by moment.

With Blessings,
