“You Have A Friend in Jesus”
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends…..” John 15:15, NKJV
There are many privileges that we have a Christians; too numerous to mention in this devotional. However, there is one great privilege that is found in our scripture for today that I would like to mention.
“I have called you friends”. It is a privilege to be a friend to someone and it is a privilege to have friends. There are good friends, great friends, and even best friends. All are important to getting through difficult times in our life.
What a great privilege we have in this scripture today to know that Christ has called us His friends. We have a friend in Jesus that will help us get through one difficult day after another. He never leaves our side. That’s the way real friends are. We know what a “fair weather” friend is; one that is our friend when it is convenient for them.
Jesus is a friend that is always there on every occasion, no matter the situation. Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus.
God, the Father, can be called our “daddy” according to the phrase “Abba Father” in Romans 8:15. And here, in John 15:15, Jesus Christ has called us His friends.
What a great privilege it is to be a Christian and to be considered friends by Jesus.
Be encouraged today that, as a Christian, Jesus is your friend. Not only our Savior, not only our helper, but our friend!
With Blessings,
Bro.Riley
