When God Laid Down The Law
“I am the LORD your God…You shall not…” Exodus 20:2-4, NKJV
Do you remember your parents “Laying down the law” to you? I sure do. They told me what I could do, what I couldn’t do and a few more things to go with it.
In Exodus chapter 20, God laid down the law and mankind has been breaking those laws ever since. They still apply today even though many think because they are in the Old Testament, they don’t apply to us. Wrong!
We are in the period of grace because of Jesus Christ but that does not give us the freedom to break the laws that God gave to mankind.
We see these laws of God ignored on every level of society. We have tried to rename some of them to make ourselves feel better about breaking them.
When government officials ignore these laws and are then excused, it sends a horrible message to the youth and children of this country that laws don’t matter.
God laid down the law to all of us and it still applies to all of us.
Christians will need to be the examples in this country to the youth and children.
Christians will have to choose to take the high path of life in order to set the example for others that do not yet know the Christ of the Bible.
