Look Out For The Pot Holes Of Life
“That she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.” Genesis 39:12, NKJV.
The devil is always looking for a way to distract and/ or defeat the Christian with temptation and then sin.
Temptations are like the pot holes in our streets. They might be deep, or they might be filled with something. Either way, they do damage to your vehicle.
Temptations and sin can bring severe damage to the life of the Christian. To avoid a pot hole in the street, we have to drive around the pot hole; we have to whatever we can to avoid driving into the pothole.
The same applies to temptations and sin that the devil puts in our path; we have to avoid it in any way that we can.
In our scripture for the day, Joseph had to literally run from his temptation leaving his garment in the hand of Potiphar’s wife who was trying to seduce him.
God always gives us a way out of our temptation. We may have to look for it but it is there and we can avoid that pot hole if we want to. The choice is up to us.
Be encouraged today in knowing that you have a choice when it comes to your temptations and sin. You can say no. You may have to do as Joseph did and run out of the room to avoid it but you can.
