“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” Revelation 22:12, NKJV
The well-known, Pastor R.G. Lee, from Tennessee preached a sermon that became as well-known as he was. The title of the sermon was Payday Someday.
The sermon dealt with the biblical truth that one day there will be a payday for both the good and the evil people in this world. That final payday would come when Jesus Christ returns to this earth.
Our scripture for today reminds us of Christ’s great return and when He comes, He will bring with Him the rewards of every man according to their works.
This day will be a dreadful day for some and a joyful day for others.
The world seems to be living with the idea that no one is watching the evil deeds that are being done and that they will forever get away with all the evil they do. This could not be further from the truth.
Likewise, sometimes Christians feel like that no one ever notices all the good that they do. God is seeing every good deed that you are doing and one day there will be a payday for all the good that you every day.
Be encouraged today in knowing that your good works are not going unnoticed. The purpose of our good works should never be so we can get a payday someday but rather because we love God.
Because we love God, we want to honor Him with our good works that should always bring glory to Him and Him alone.
