Give It Away
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so”. Proverbs 3:27, NKJV
Our scripture for today reminds us not to hold back good from someone when we have the power to do good for them.
We hold back from helping others for a host of reasons; we don’t want to get involved, we are too busy, we have our own problems, they are beneath our status, someone else will come by and help them, it’s a dangerous world and they might harm me are just a few of those reasons.
The word stingy is a word we might remember from our childhood. We didn’t want to share our toy with anyone else. Our parents responded by saying; don’t be stingy.
Our scripture is telling us; don’t be stingy. If we have the power to help someone else, don’t withhold it from them.
When we give away what God has given us, He will replace with many times over. We can never out give God.
