Satan Is Alive And Well
“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Ephesians 6:16, NKJV
Any soldier can tell you what the words, “under fire” mean. Those words refer to an intense battle with the enemy. The enemy is attacking and the soldier is taking fire from the enemy. All of the training they have been through is being severely tested.
The Christian can apply those words to the spiritual war that they are in. Their faith is under fire. The enemy is attacking and they are taking fire from the enemy. Any Christian will tell you that they understand what it means to have their faith under fire. It’s when their faith is being severely tested.
In the spiritual realm, having our faith under fire, might come in the form of trials, temptations, or other kinds of hardships. This is where the Christian’s faith comes under its most severe testing. It’s when all of our training, or the lack of it, will reveal how strong our faith really is, or perhaps how weak it really is.
Take heart though, in all of this testing. You are not alone and you will persevere though the fiery darts of the wicked one. Jesus said, “lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”.
