Don’t Go Looking For Trouble!
“Jesus said, ‘Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.'” — Matthew 6:34, NKJV
“Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”. In several translations, those last words are translated; “Each day has enough trouble of its own”. In other words, don’t go looking for trouble today because there is enough trouble already in your day.
I have never quite understood those who seem to enjoy either having trouble in their life or making trouble for themselves and others. It seems to me like there is already enough trouble to deal with in our lives without creating or looking for more.
In Matthew 6:34, Jesus told us not to look for trouble tomorrow because trouble was already there. He said to worry about something is a form of looking for trouble in our life. He was telling us not to add more trouble in our life by worrying about something.
Today, don’t go looking trouble. Trouble will find us easily enough. Walk today by faith, not by fear or feelings. If you are looking to confront someone that has angered you, drop it! Don’t create more trouble for yourself. If you are like most of us, you already have enough trouble to deal with today without creating more.
Be encouraged today knowing that if you don’t look for trouble, there is a better possibility of have a good day rather than a crummy day.
