Are You Feeling Down Today?

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4, NKJV.

In this verse Paul speaks of three areas of learning which we gain from reading and studying the Scriptures. They are patience, comfort, and hope. These are very important areas of learning indeed and they are essential in finding hope in a hopeless situation.

Let’s face it; there are some situations in our life that we can’t do one single thing about. It’s just out of our hands and out of our control. It could be defined as hopeless as far as our abilities are concerned.

In those times we have to have somewhere to turn or somebody to turn to. Problems have a way of wearing us out and down and we can feel lost and hopeless when we get to that point. Let me encourage you to turn to the Bible.

Let me give you three reasons; patience, comfort, and hope.

Notice, our verse for the day did not say that we would receive a solution to the problem. It did say, however, that the scriptures would give us patience, comfort, and hope in the midst of what we have determined to be hopeless.
We may have to face some hopeless situations in our life but we will never have to face them alone. Patience, comfort, hope and Jesus Christ will be there for us.

Be encouraged today in knowing that God’s Word can give you patience, comfort, and hope when you feel lost and hopeless.
