God Has Greatly Honored You
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John 3:1-2, NKJV
We were created to love and to be loved. There is a human need created within us to be loved. We long for others to love us and to appreciate us. God created us that way because God wants those whom He created to be a loving creation.
The Bible says that God is love. The Bible says that God first loved us. God, Himself is love and He wants us to both be loved by others and to love others.
Our scripture for the day reminds us of the great love that God, Himself, as given to us. Not only did He love us so much that He gave His only Son to be payment for our sin, but He also loved us so much that we can be called the “the children of God”.
God saved us, secured us, and sealed us as His children. What a blessing it is for you and me to be able to call the God of this universe, Daddy. The word “Father” is a formal name. However, the word “Daddy” is a personal name.
God loves us so much that He allows us to call Him “Daddy”. What an honor and a privilege it is to have that up-close and personal relationship with the creator of this universe.
