You Just Won The Lottery!
“My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 7:1-3, NKJV
The commands of God are likened unto a treasure in this Proverb. They even mean life to us when we keep them. We are to write them upon the fabric of our heart.
The lottery is a get rich quick hope for millions of people. They see it as an end to all their problems and the key to happiness. It is the treasure they seek with all their heart and a lot of their money.
There is a treasure that is much easier to have than actually having the winning ticket in the lottery. The treasure is the written word of God, in which, are the commands of the Lord that bring real life and that bring real and lasting joy.
There are no numbers to guess, and no tickets to buy. God freely and happily gives His treasures to all who read His words.
A Statistician has said that the odds of winning a lottery is 1 in 175,223,510. What kind of hope can we find in that?
A sure thing is the treasure we find when we read the word of the Lord.
