Don’t Watch This World
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2, NKJV
Look out at the world. What do you see? When I look out at the world, I see confusion, hatred, division, bitterness, despair, hunger, misery and the list of negative adjectives could go on and on as to how we might describe the current status of this world.
In contrast, look unto Jesus. What do you see? When I look at Jesus, I see salvation, hope, peace, love, forgiveness, deliverance and the list of positive adjectives to describe Jesus could go on and on.
I have found that our attitude of the day may very well depend on what we look at. If we look at this dark and perverse world, we cannot help but be discouraged and depressed.
On the other hand, if we look unto Jesus, our attitude and altitude rises immensely. Make a choice today to keep looking unto Jesus. Turn your eyes away from the hopeless world and turn them upon Jesus where you can find the hope and peace that you long for.
