Five Mighty Names Of Jesus
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6, NKJV
His proper name is Jesus. The names we read in this Isaiah verse are characteristics of the person Jesus.
We do this today when we refer to someone as wonderful or nice or pleasant. These names in Isaiah 9:6 give us a picture of what Jesus is like as a person.
He is Wonderful, a Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. All of these are genuine characteristics of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As Savior, He came to save us from our sins and bring us eternal life.
“Wonderful; He is a wonderful Savior and God. “Counsellor”; He is a counsellor that we can call on at any time. “Mighty God”; He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord’s. “Everlasting Father”; He was, is and will always be. “Prince of Peace”; only Jesus can bring real peace to us.
At the mighty name of Jesus, one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
