Finding Calm In Your Storm
“And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:24-27
Do you feel like your life is in the midst of a storm? Does it seem like there is trouble on every side of you and regardless of which way you look, you see problems and trials? If your answer is yes, let me reassure you today that you are not alone.
Also, let me reassure you today there is hope. Our scriptures this morning reminds us that even the winds and the sea obey Jesus. That would include your problems also.
They cried out to Him for help. Their help was not to be found in more money or more possessions or even a bigger boat. Their help was to be found only in Jesus Christ. Money and possessions will not make your troubles go away. Only Christ can calm the storms of your life.
Call on Him in prayer today. Tell Him every problem that you face. Ask Him to deliver you from the storm that rages in your life. If the winds and the sea must obey Him, then your troubles and problems must obey Him as well. Call on His name. His is the name that is above every name in heaven and on earth.
