You Have Been Chosen
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the father in my name He may give it to you.” — John 15:16, NKJV
My family moved several times between my elementary and high school years. Therefore, I was always the new kid in the class and being the unknown kid, I was usually the last to be chosen when the kids in the neighborhood “chose up” teams to play ball.
The verse I included above has always been an encouragement to me because it reminds me that God personally chose me for salvation. I didn’t choose Him but He chose me. My salvation was not an accident nor did He chose me because I was the last one left.
He chose me because He wanted me. Also in that verse is the fact that He chose me because He had something (“appointed”) He wanted me to do for Him. Think about that for a moment! He chose you because He wanted you. He wanted you because He has something He wants you to do for Him.
Be encouraged today in knowing there is something God wants you to do for Him that He has not asked anyone else to do for Him. Just you! Maybe God wants you to help someone, or maybe be kind to someone, or perhaps encourage someone, or maybe someone to witness to. Just you!
Ask God to show you what He wants you to do for Him today and then just LISTEN! He chose you for that very thing and for so very much more.
