Peace Like A River
“The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11, NKJV.
A good number of years ago, we were able to camp next to a small river while visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
The water in the river running over the small rocks gave off a very relaxing sound. It is probably the most relaxing camping experiences we have had. In this world full of chaos and trials, that kind of peace is hard to find.
Our scripture for today reminds us that real peace comes from the Lord and it is a blessing from Him to have His peace.
Revelation 22:1 tells us of a “river of life” flowing out of the throne of God in heaven. Heaven is a place of this peace that we long for. There will be neither crying nor death in heaven. A place of God’s peace and a river will be found there that will give life.
The trials of this life have a way of robbing our peace and there are times when we seem to be in constant turmoil about something.
Do you long to know and have peace? It is possible to have peace in the midst of our trials but it comes only from God as we seek to have Him in the midst of our trials.
God has a way of bringing peace where there is turmoil. There is a peace that comes from giving up on a problem and letting God be God regardless of the outcome.
Be encouraged today, in knowing that God can give you peace in the midst of your turmoil, grief and pain.
