Is It Really Worth It?
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37, NKJV
What is a person willing to give up to have the houses, the boats, the guns, the hunting leases, the RV’s, the trucks, the cars, and all the other toys that draw us into that mentality?
Would you be willing to give up your wife, your children, your peace, your comfort, your happiness and trade that for all the junk you can stack into your garage? I’ve personally known more than one man that was willing to make that swap.
While you are at it; what would you take for your soul? Would you be willing to deal with the devil over your soul for a few measly bucks and another toy that will be outdated in a year?
There’s a war going on over your soul whether you realize it or not. Satan is trying to bargain for it with a few measly things that you might think you can’t live without.
The scripture for today is a warning to every one of us that we should pay close attention what we are giving up in our life, little by little, day by day, just to have a little bigger piece of the world.
It’s really not worth it!
