That Small Still Voice

“Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19, NKJV

The voice of the Holy Spirit comes in the most extraordinarily gentle ways, and if you are not sensitive enough to detect His voice you will quench it, and your personal spiritual life will be impaired.

His voice will always come as a still small voice, so small that no one but the believer notices them.

To hear The Spirit speak to us we must both be listening for Him and be quite in our own spirit.

All the noise we might be making as He tries to speak to us will most likely quench the Holy Spirit and will miss the message He has for us.

Our scripture for today warns us that we should not quench the Holy Spirit. It is like throwing water on a fire to quench the fire until it goes out.

Listen for that still small voice speaking to you and when you hear it obey it to receive the wisdom and guidance that you may be seeking.

Sometimes, all of our praying is so full of asking and complaining that we cannot hear that still small voice.

There is a time in our praying that we need to stay still and quite so we can hear that voice from within us give us the answers and directions that we are seeking.

Be encouraged today in knowing that the Holy Spirit will speak to you in that small quiet voice to lead you, direct you and comfort you.

With Blessings,
