Lay It Down and Leave It Alone

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you …” — Psalm 55:22, NKJV

Our scripture for today encourages us to give our burden to the Lord. In doing so, the Lord shall sustain you or will hold you up through the situation which is a burden.

The scripture does not say that the Lord will remove the burden from your life but that He will sustain you though the burden.

The key is to lay the burden down at the feet of the Lord. It is called a burden because it is something that we carry around with us during the day. It is called a burden because it is heavy. It is called a burden because carrying it around with us wears us down.

Lay your burden down. Lay your burden down at the feet of Jesus. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28, NKJV

The next important thing to remember and to do is to leave the burden there once you “Cast your burden on the Lord”.

We have the bad habit of casting our burden on the Lord and then taking it back from Him and we continue to carry the burden around and it continues to wear us down.

Be encouraged today by our scripture to give your burden to the Lord. Remember the scripture, “His yoke is easy, and My burden is light”. Matthew 11:30, NKJV

Then, all that is left to do is; leave it there!
