The Value Of Values

How Valuable Are Your Values?

“Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren.” Deuteronomy 4:9, NKJV

The values that we teach our children are the values they will teach their own families. The investment of values that we make on our children is not for just one generation, it is for generation after generation.

As a parent you are a teacher and your classroom is your home, it’s on the vacations you take, it’s the discussion you have around the dinner table, it’s the attitude that they see in you every day, it’s the language they hear coming out of your mouth and it’s the decisions they see you make.

Our scripture for the day tells us that what we teach our children, they, in turn, will teach their children. How valuable are your values? Look into the face of your children and you will realize how important they are.

Be encouraged today in knowing that your position as a parent is the most important position in the world. And, you never stop being a parent, even when they move out on their own; you can still teach and instill your values into them.

Don’t let the world teach your children its values. You must be the teacher that teaches your children the values that you want them to live long after you are gone.
